Founded in 2004, Building Bridges' mission is to assist organizations and business entities address challenges affecting personal and professional relationships by providing individual and group mediation, facilitation, personnel management consulting, and conflict management and training services. Through these services, Building Bridges will assist with the enhancement or development of actions to help organizations and business entities attain desired objectives.

Our customers include:

• Media General – a communications company located in Richmond, Virginia with interests in newspapers and television stations.
• Virginia State University, Petersburg, Virginia – an institution of higher learning within the State of Virginia’s college and university system.
• Virginia Commonwealth University Health System, Richmond, Virginia - a leading health care system, nationally and internationally recognized.
• International Association of Fire Chiefs, Fairfax, Virginia – provides leadership training and professional support to national and international career and volunteer chiefs.

The President and Senior Consultant

Louis Vaughan, one of the original founders of Building Bridges LLC, is an HR professional with over twenty-five years of experience. He has managed and directed employee relations, recruitment and retention, dispute resolution, and training programs while serving with the United States Air Force and the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System. In addition, for ten years, he served as a management consultant and employment counselor with the Department of Employment Dispute Resolution. His strength is in people management, most significantly in the evaluation of current programs, and the development and implementation of programs and initiatives that enhance performance and personnel management effectiveness. For two years, Lou taught an undergraduate human resource management course at the University of Mary Washington. Also, he co-taught a basic mediation course in the School of Continuing Studies at the University of Richmond.
